2017 GUEST INSTRUCTOR CLASS CALENDAR
This course consists of classroom and range time dedicated to an emphasis on the basics of rifle marksmanship principles. This will include rifle ballistics, trajectory and how it applies to the scope the student chooses to use, zeroing the rifle scope and how to get the best potential out of your scope.
The course is designed to help long range shooting in both competition and hunting. Ken has developed this course over the last 30 years from his own experience as well as range patron feedback.
Class is limited to 8 students.

Fundamentals of marksmanship
Units of measure
Intro to spotting/spotting scopes
Intro to estimating range
Intro to estimating wind
Maintenance and cleaning
Serviceable rifle and scope (max caliber: .30/max muzzle velocity: 3200 fps)
400 rounds Match grade ammunition
Notebook and pen
Ear protection (electronic preferred)
Weapons cleaning kit
An open mind
$35/day (separate from course cost)
•One-day precision rifle fun shoot.
•8 stages that are fun and challenging without being extreme in difficulty or nail biting par times.
•FOR EVERYONE (men AND women) from the new rifle shooter up to the more seasoned.
•NEW SHOOTERS: Great chance for new shooters just experimenting with long range to get their feet wet without diving into the deep end of the long range match pool.
•HUNTERS: Opportunity to get in some practice before hunting season!
•Because this is a fun shoot designed for practice, shooters will be spotting for each other. So, if you have a spotting scope, feel free to bring it along.
MAXIMUM MUZZLE VELOCITY: 3200 fps
ROUND COUNT: Minimum 80 rounds for the shoot (more if you want to zero and/or shoot afterwards, time permitting.)
Match Grade ammunition is required. HANDLOADS WILL BE ALLOWED.
SIGN-IN AND ZERO: CONFIRM ZERO @ 100 YDS Match day 7 AM-8 AM.

THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS TO THESE POLICIES.
RANGE POLICIES UPDATE
Red River West representatives will inspect all ammo brought for classes, competition or personal use at our facility. This is to ensure that all ammo is safe for use here and complies with our Ammo Restrictions policy. If any unauthorized restricted ammo is found, the person having it will be immediately expelled from the range with no refund. This is for the safety of all persons at the range as well as for protection of our property and targetry.
Please note only Red River West can approve or suggest ammo, not an instructor. However, check the instructor's website to ensure you have the required minimum round count.
MAGAZINE LOADING/UNLOADING IS ALLOWED ONLY AT THE GEAR TABLES. THERE IS NO LOADING/UNLOADING MAGAZINES IN THE PARKING OR GENERAL AREAS.

ONLY AMMO FROM THESE MANUFACTURERS WILL BE ALLOWED (SUBJECT TO THE RESTRICTIONS POLICY STATED BELOW):
LONG RANGE AMMO
For long range classes, match ammunition is required; for example, Federal Gold Medal Match or Black Hills Match.
AMMO RESTRICTIONS POLICY
NO steel case, steel core, armor piercing (M855, green tip, SS109, Win Q3131, Win 3131A, tungsten penetrator, black tip, etc.), XM-193, tracer, incendiary, aluminum case, or communist block ammo is allowed…PERIOD.
No ‘remanufactured’ ammo is allowed from ANY manufacturer.
HOLSTER RESTRICTIONS POLICY
SERPA HOLSTERS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED AT RED RIVER WEST. All holsters will be inspected to ensure they are in compliance with our guidelines and safe for use. This includes any holster considered "serpaesque" or having the same type of release that the Serpa holsters have.

We have a whole new look to our public ranges use this year. We are introducing daily flat rates for handgun, carbine and long range time.
NO MEMBERSHIP OR CLUB FEES!
TIMES AVAILABLE: Appointments are available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between the hours of 9 am - 6pm with last shots at 5:30 pm. Time slots are on a first come first serve basis. Some weekends are available, depending on our training schedule. Appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
DAILY FLAT RATE: $20.00 (Gets you one paper target. Additional paper targets available for $1/each.)

MINIMUM AGES: Minimum age for handgun range use is 21. Minimum age for use of rifle ranges is 18.
