RED RIVER WEST IS NOW OPEN TO THE PUBLIC WITH A NEW LOWER INTRODUCTORY RATE!

Red River West, LLC is open to the public! The range will be open by appointment Monday, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 8 am - 6 pm for pistol, carbine and long range rifle. Last shots are at 5:30.

“Range Time” will be by appointment only. You may reserve your Range Time by calling 940-284-3200.

SAFETY VETTING COURSE – OPTIONAL BUT RECOMMENDED:

This is a 3 hour course offered in handgun, carbine and long range/hunting rifle designed to review basic safety principles. At the end of the class each individual shooter will be evaluated for proficiency, safety, as well as knowledge of their weapon’s operation and parts, and ability to clear malfunctions.

Classes can be done one on one or as a group.

Successful completion of a handgun vetting class will allow the shooter to draw from the holster as well as shoot on the move (depending on the number of people on the range at that time). Additionally, vetting will grant the shooter access to both the steel plate rack range and the scenario range. These ranges are especially beneficial to those who are interested in or already competing in competitive shooting events such as IDPA or USPSA. See our Handgun Range page for more details.

COURSE COST:   $100.00 (per platform or multi-class discount)

INTRODUCTORY RANGE HOURLY RATE:

$15/HOUR (2 hour minimum)

NEW AMMO RESTRICTIONS AND INSPECTION POLICY

Red River West, LLC is a range allowing only AMERICAN MADE, brass-cased, copper-jacketed, good quality ammo.

DUE TO RECENT INCIDENTS, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY ONLY AMMUNITION MANUFACTURED BY THE FOLLOWING COMPANIES WILL BE ALLOWED AT RED RIVER WEST:

  • Winchester;
  • Remington;
  • Federal;
  • Lawman;
  • Hornady; and
  • Black Hills.

Additionally, the current restrictions remain in place:

NO steel case, steel core, armor piercing (M855, green tip, SS109, Win Q3131, Win 3131A, tungsten penetrator, black tip, etc.), tracer, incendiary, aluminum case, or communist block ammo is allowed.

For long range classes, match ammunition manufactured by one of the above listed manufacturers is required; for example, Federal Gold Medal Match or Black Hills Match.

Red River West representatives will inspect all ammo brought for classes and personal use at our facility. This is to ensure that all ammo is safe for use here and complies with our Ammo Restrictions policy. If ammo is found that does not comply, you will forfeit your time or class at the range and will be asked to leave. Again, this is for the safety of all persons at the range as well as for protection of our property and targetry. If you have any questions, please contact us, directly.

Please note that only Red River West can approve or suggest ammo, not an instructor. However, check the instructor's website to ensure you have the required minimum round count.

A VETERAN OWNED multi-range firearms training facility located northwest of Gainesville, Texas. Our secure, secluded setting allows instructors to limit their curriculum by only safety and their imagination.
