ABOUT RANDY DeHAY

Red River West’s resident instructor is Randy DeHay.  Randy is a San Antonio native who did a complete 180 and left art school to join the military at the age of 19. He started his 10-year military career with the 82nd airborne where he successfully completed US Army Ranger School and served as a scout sniper in his first deployment to Afghanistan. Soon after he attended the Special Forces Selection and Assessment Course where he was selected to become a Special Forces Weapons Sergeant (18B). After his training, he joined 7th SFG serving as a SF operator and sniper on an Operational Detachment Alpha (ODA) completing numerous combat deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan. As a Special Forces Weapons Sgt., Randy has a broad range of teaching experience in both the military and private sector. He also has a unique knowledge of the firearms industry from formerly serving as Director of Special Projects for Dynamic Research Technologies (DRT Ammo), to being the Co-founder/Owner of Red Se7en Rifle Company. Randy believes in meeting shooters where they are and giving them the tools to help them advance in their sport; whether it’s someone who has never fired a gun before, or an advanced competition shooter. Randy’s philosophy is to cater his teaching to the needs of his students, not have his students cater their needs to his teachings.
